⏳ Some things change, some things stay the same.

We’re back with another post celebrating 100 Years of History in Hamburg, looking at how things have changed around our fab site in Lokstedt. Can you guess the year of the first pic? Leave your guess in the comments – the closest gets a ⭐!

#HistoryLesson: Notice the high percentage of women in the 1958 canteen pic? Women in Germany gained the right to vote in 1918 but faced many setbacks under the Nazi regime. Post-WWII, women could work but needed their husband’s permission. Like most factories at the time, the Stresemannallee site had a large percentage of female employees. As production shifted from vacuum tubes to semiconductors in the 1960s, a 24-hour production cycle was implemented to meet the ever-rising demand. However, there was a problem. Night work restrictions led to a shift to male workers in the 1960s, and this legislation wasn’t fully lifted until May 1992.
